Inspire creativity while connecting your students to the world around them!

Students are invited to create original artwork inspired by the core themes of Project AWEAgriculture, Water, Energy, and the Environment. From illustrating the journey of water to exploring the role of agriculture or the importance of sustainable energy, students can translate real-world concepts into creative, personal expression.

This art contest builds on those same ideas, offering a meaningful opportunity for students to reflect on how these interconnected systems shape our communities and future—whether they’ve experienced Project AWE firsthand or are engaging with the concepts in the classroom.

Located at the historic Nicolaus Dairy near Elk Grove, Project AWE is a partnership between the SacSewer and Sacramento Splash, providing a immersive, standards-aligned learning experiences for grades 2–5. By blending local history with interactive lessons, the program fosters environmental stewardship and helps students better understand the resources we all depend on.
