What We Do
At SacSewer, we stay laser-focused on keeping our system in good working order so our customers can always count on reliable sewer service.
We closely monitor the condition of our equipment and facilities–whether it’s through investigating a reported sewer problem or completing proactive maintenance or inspections that prevent problems from occurring.
Our sewage collection system is comprised of 5,200 miles of sewer pipes and 117 pump stations. To keep these facilities running smoothly, our crews undertake a wide range of preventive maintenance and repair activities.
These include cleanout installation and repair, lower lateral pipe repair or replacement, television inspection of pipes, lower lateral cleaning, and main line cleaning. More About Our Commitment to Environmental SustainabilityThe EchoWater Resource Recovery Facility (EchoWater Facility) near Elk Grove is the final destination for treating and recovering resources from the sewage conveyed by collection systems throughout the Sacramento region.
One of the largest of its kind in the United States, the EchoWater Facility features three levels of treatment to ensure sewage is properly treated and cleaned.Step One
Primary Treatment
Cleans and disinfects the waterStep Two
Secondary Treatment
Removes nutrients -About 99% of ammonia and 89% of nitrogenStep Three
Tertiary Treatment
Filters and disinfects the waterMost people don’t realize how many valuable resources can be recovered from the sewage that enters the EchoWater Facility. Through our sustainable efforts in resource recovery, we are maximizing the reuse of treatment process by-products such as biogas, biosolids, and the treated water itself (recycled water).
All of these programs help reduce impacts on the environment by innovatively reusing valuable resources. More About Our Commitment to Environmental SustainabilityService Levels
We keep our finger on the pulse of how well we serve our customers, meet their expectations, and fulfill our mission. In talking with our customers and stakeholders, we have identified seven core service levels that are particularly important to—and clearly affect—our customers.
